An Account Executive job will normally have someone in it with around 2 years experience in an account handling position. They will be managing elements of the account alongside an Account Manager to help deliver the goals of a marketing campaign. They will be maturing into an Account Manager role too, working closely with their superior to ensure that client or campaign’s marketing objectives are being delivered. They will not only be analysing results but start to develop strategies based on them and making recommendations internally and externally to clients.
Account Executives will be keen to progress into an Account Manager role having climbed the ladder successfully from Account Assistant. If career and progression plans aren’t clear, then looking elsewhere will be inevitable. Or maybe you are looking for new clients to work on, larger ones with bigger brands? Or maybe you want to downsize and work on smaller more specialised campaigns? Team fit, culture, who you report into or the company’s vision can all impact the decision to find a new role. There are lots of opportunities at this level, with clients looking to locate great candidates in their great roles.
