A Graphic Designer’s job is to be responsible for the design of many aspects of a company’s creative assets that would be used across both offline and digital platforms. This would cover areas such as logo designs and accompanying images where the Designer would create the final designs after creating a number of concepts and early designs for sign off. Software adopted by Graphic Designers would commonly be Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Figma, CoreIDRAW or Adobe Spark. They are commonly found in agency environments but can also be found in companies where there is a lot of creative project-based work. By examining their portfolios, we can determine the creative treatments designed from the various packages and the impact they’ve had on their respective campaigns.

Junior Graphic Designers start in their role normally after having a degree or similar qualifications in Graphic Design. They then progress to creating designs that they will become known for and adopting a specific style. Senior Designers would then begin to manage a team that may mirror or complement their designs and some will have coding skills for online design activity that will attract a higher salary. Progress can then be onto being at Art Director, Creative Director, Brand Manager or even a Head of Design.
