Working in a CRM job means that you will be in charge of the customer database and have knowledge of how to use this effectively to communicate and retain customers. It will be an initial objective to ensure that the right type of data is being collected and used effectively when communicating with the customer base. Once segmented, using different communication methods, design treatments and content will assist with maximising response rates and achieving the CRM objectives.
The position plays host to a range of seniorities, from CRM Manager to Executive and Assistant. They will be keen to progress in their role and this is done by working with a range of data sets in different sectors. Success will come from the results that are generated from the responses that are observed from CRM campaigns that are undertaken. The more commercial value these campaigns add to an organisation, the quicker the CRM employee will progress in their role. It is likely that a CRM Manager will have to diversify in their role in order to progress into a well rounded Marketing Manager or progress into a Marketing Director role, so it will be important to work across other related marketing channels in order to achieve this.
