Performance Marketing Manager
- £50,000
- Manchester - Hybrid/remote
- Permanent
We're looking for a data-driven and commercially minded Performance Marketing Manager to play a key role in growing our customer acquisition activity.
You'll take ownership of campaigns across a broad range of digital advertising platforms, developing and executing strategies that deliver sustainable growth, improve acquisition efficiency and attract valuable customers.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working across multiple channels, combining analytical thinking with creativity and experimentation to continually improve results.
You'll have the opportunity to shape campaign strategy, manage significant budgets and introduce new technologies that make our marketing activity more effective.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Plan, manage and optimise digital acquisition campaigns across search, social, mobile and display advertising.
- Identify opportunities to increase conversion rates, improve acquisition efficiency and maximise marketing returns.
- Develop and refine bidding strategies using customer value, behavioural insights and performance data.
- Work alongside creative and analytical teams to deliver ongoing campaign, audience and messaging experiments.
- Take responsibility for campaign budgets, performance reporting and relationships with external partners.
- Maintain high standards of measurement, ensuring tracking systems and conversion data provide an accurate picture of results.
- Explore new advertising opportunities and identify ways to improve performance across existing channels.
- Monitor campaign trends and translate insights into actionable optimisation strategies.
AI, Technology & Automation
Technology will play an important part in this role. We're particularly interested in someone who enjoys building practical solutions using AI and automation rather than simply adopting off-the-shelf tools.
You'll look for opportunities to streamline campaign management and reduce manual processes by developing intelligent workflows and automated systems.
Areas of focus will include:
- Automating search query analysis and identifying optimisation opportunities.
- Developing budget monitoring, performance alerts and account health checks.
- Using AI to assess creative performance and identify emerging trends.
- Improving reporting processes and campaign oversight through automated workflows.
- Connecting marketing platforms and data sources using APIs, scripts and integration tools.
- Experimenting with AI agents and workflow platforms to improve operational efficiency.
Experience with Python, JavaScript, APIs, MCP integrations or automation platforms such as Make.com would be beneficial.
About You
- 3–5 years' experience managing paid media campaigns in a performance-focused environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of Google Ads and Meta advertising platforms.
- Experience running campaigns across several digital acquisition channels.
- Understanding of customer economics, including lifetime value, acquisition costs and customer payback.
- Experience with conversion tracking, GA4, Google Tag Manager and marketing measurement.
- An interest in developing AI-powered tools, agents and automated marketing workflows.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn campaign data into meaningful improvements.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership and challenge existing processes.
Experience within financial services, insurance or another regulated industry would be advantageous.
Additional knowledge of SQL, Python, automated advertising scripts and partnership acquisition channels would also be welcomed.
The Ideal Candidate
You're a practical and inquisitive digital marketer who enjoys taking responsibility for performance and finding ways to make things work better.
You understand the commercial drivers behind successful customer acquisition and know how to balance campaign volume with customer quality and long-term value.
You're comfortable working independently, enjoy experimenting with new approaches and are motivated by seeing measurable improvements from your work.
Above all, you're excited by the opportunity to combine performance marketing expertise with emerging technology to build more intelligent, efficient and profitable marketing operations.
If you're ready to make an impact and help shape the future of digital acquisition, we'd love to hear from you.
