We're partnering exclusively with a well-established, customer-focused organisation to recruit a Digital Marketing Manager to lead the performance of its search marketing strategy.
This is a highly commercial offering the opportunity to take ownership of a significant paid media budget, drive organic search growth and lead digital performance across a large direct-to-consumer channel. Managing one direct report, agency relationships and working within a collaborative marketing team of eight people, you'll have the autonomy to shape strategy while remaining close to delivery.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Digital Marketing Manager looking for greater ownership and scale, or a Senior PPC/Paid Search Manager ready to broaden their remit and step into a leadership role.
The Role
You'll lead the search strategy across the direct marketing function, with responsibility for both Paid Search and Organic Search performance whilst managing agency and 3rd party relationships.
This is a performance-led position where success is measured through lead generation, revenue growth, return on investment, and continual optimisation. You'll own the development and delivery of search strategies that increase customer acquisition while maximising the effectiveness of digital marketing spend.
A key part of the role will involve leading paid search activity across high-value accounts, managing budgets in excess of £8 million. You'll continually review campaign performance, identify opportunities to optimise spend and improve efficiency, and work closely with specialist agency partners to ensure best-in-class delivery.
Alongside paid media, you'll drive the organic search strategy, delivering improvements across technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content performance, digital PR and broader search visibility. You'll also work closely with UX and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) specialists to continually enhance customer journeys and maximise conversion performance.
You'll take ownership of digital performance reporting, using tools such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to provide meaningful commercial insight and recommendations. Working across multiple projects simultaneously, you'll manage agency workflows, prioritise activity and ensure delivery against ambitious growth targets.
The role also includes mentoring and developing one direct report while building strong relationships with colleagues across marketing, technology, and operational teams. You'll ensure digital marketing activity aligns with internal governance and regulatory requirements where appropriate, maintaining high standards across all customer-facing communications.
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded digital marketer with a strong background in paid search and a passion for driving measurable business growth.
You'll have experience managing significant PPC budgets and taking ownership of performance against lead generation, revenue, or acquisition targets. You'll be confident using data to identify optimisation opportunities and making commercial decisions that improve digital performance.
You'll also bring strong SEO experience, with a proven track record of delivering improvements in organic visibility through technical SEO, content optimisation, and broader search strategies. Experience working with external PPC and SEO agencies is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience of:
- Managing substantial PPC or paid media budgets with the support of agencies and 3rd party relationships.
- Delivering measurable improvements in ROI, lead generation and revenue.
- Developing and implementing SEO strategies that have driven tangible organic growth.
- Working closely with the external agencies to deliver high-performing digital campaigns.
- Analysing performance data to influence strategy and commercial decision-making.
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking, and tagging.
- An understanding of technical SEO best practice, structured data (schema markup) and digital PR.
Experience working within a regulated industry would be advantageous, particularly where marketing activity is subject to governance or compliance requirements. However, we're equally interested in candidates from other highly competitive, performance-driven environments who can demonstrate strong commercial results.
