Open digital is BACK in Manchester for another year ready to bring together researchers, industry and government representatives who are all ready to discuss everything and anything that is happening in the Digital Marketing industry.

Starting on the 4th November till the 6th November the event will take over Salford Quays, home to MediacityUK.

Hosted by the University of Salford, the event discusses the impact of the digital industry which is continually expanding and how digital technology and innovations are shaping both businesses and the community. This annual event brings together some of the UK's leading digital professionals who are scheduled to give inspirational speeches, presentations and exploratory workshops.

Speaking about the event is Professor Brain Longhurst, who is the University of Salford Pro-Vice-Chancellor. He saysThe Conference is a key event designed to encourage the further collaborative development of this community, highlighting in particular rising student stars and the links between academia and industry.'

This year, the conference that has a particular focus on 'open digital.' A variety of different topics regarding the Digital Marketing industry will be discussed by a few different panellists and keynote speakers including;

  • Irene Ng:  Professor of Marketing and service systems, who is scheduled to discuss the importance and value of personal data in the digital economy.
  • Dame Wendy Hall: Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southampton and Managing Director of the Web Science Trust, is giving a keynote speech on recent developments 'openness.'
  • Other key topics that will be discussed surround the future of media and the SME experience at MediaCityUK and knowledge exchange in the digital economy.
