Counterintuitive perhaps in a technical environment, technologically driven and technically delivered but it would seem that good old fashioned, soft, client handling skills are THE key asset in the world of digital marketing.
Well that's certainly what respondents to our new survey indicated.
Without doubt technical skills are practically and tactically essential. That's a given. But whilst technology is essentially transient (platforms come, platforms go) it's the age old imperative of strong and clear communication that seems to be the deal breaker. From requirements analysis to project scoping to management to review, effective relationship management came out as the premium digital marketing skill.
