Agency All-Rounder - Evie Barker joins The Candidate!

Agency Recruitment Executive, Evie Barker, tells us all about her professional background, what attracted her to The Candidate, and who she can help find the job of their dreams!

Lovely to have you onboard. First of all tell us, what is your background and experience?

I studied Marketing at university, whilst studying I picked up placements and internships at places like Urban Splash in Manchester and Liverpool Sound City to get real hands-on experience. Then I landed myself a job in social media at a Manchester Agency for 2 years, afterwards I went into retail management, where I had my first insight into the recruitment process.

What attracted you to The Candidate before you started?

I wanted to work for a company that really valued their staff and understand that we’re all human. The Candidate stood out to me as a team of people that work alongside each other to get the job done.

What was the recruitment process like?

I applied through our website, 5 minutes later had a call from Elliot, later that day I had an interview then a week later I met Brian. It was informal and we had a laugh, but the guys really understood me as a person.

What is your current role at The Candidate and what will you be working on?

I work with the agency team recruiting for talented professionals at all levels, who are looking for a new position at some of the top UK agencies.

What is the culture like?

Work hard, play harder! An office with lots of music, laughs and drinks. Tonnes of encouragement from the team, but the understanding that you might have a bad day and that’s completely fine, the next day will be better.

What is the best thing about working at The Candidate?

For me the flexibility to work on projects you’re really passionate about and manage your own time. I can work from anywhere and if I want a Friday afternoon off I can.
