Media City UK Social Media Surgery

What is it?

The Social Media Surgery is an informal drop-in session where experts are on hand to provide tips and practical advice about how social media could help your organisation and how to make the best out of social media to boost your business prospects.

When and where?

Date: 8th March 2013

Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Venue: Ground Floor BBC Bridge House
              Media City UK
              Salford Quays
              Salford
              M50 2EQ

For who?

Anyone from the voluntary and community sector can come and pick the brains of our 'surgeons' (helpful volunteers who understand the world of Twitter, Facebook and the rest).

Why?

Whether you're baffled by Facebook, can't work out what everyone's Twittering about, or have fallen off a blog, there'll be someone at the Social Media Surgery who can explain everything!

There will be experts present to show you how to get started, get yourself out of those sticky situations, or just simply help you think through why you might use any of these social media tools in the first place, to assist your organisation.

The BBC is kindly hosting the event. BBC Outreach volunteers are facilitating the event, whom is a small team within the Operations Division of the BBC that build links with the community. (Other volunteers are also welcome - please sign up and we'll be in contact.)

More details?

It's completely free, there's tea and coffee on tap! The surgery is creative atmosphere where you can have a conversation rather than being stuck in a classroom.

As all of the social media surgeons are volunteers giving up their time for nothing, most are unable to offer further unpaid support outside of the surgeries.

BUT, that's exactly why the surgeries are held every month! You're most welcome to revisit the surgery, as often as you need to - or to bring along colleagues if you need to spread the social media goodness around your organisation...
