Dan says that in an interview he looks for a positive and approachable attitude as well as someone that has their own professional development goals.

For him, red lights are people who aren’t able to adapt to change due to the constant development of Martech and new software. He also says ‘Finally a lack of emotional intelligence and empathy and a lack of digital and analytical experience would be a problem when recruiting for this role.’

His advice for someone looking to start out in CRM would be:

  • Read up on reputable sources such as Hubspot blog and smart insights.
  • Network and use your contact
  • Do digital courses
