What attracted you to The Candidate?

I heard such positive reviews about the working culture and team, which put me at ease! I’d been told that it was a fun, social, and good place to work – and when I met the team for the first time, we got on straight away! Our personalities and values matched really well, so I felt welcomed from the get go. Also, with my background in Marketing and eCommerce, working with a recruitment agency that focuses a lot on marketing roles seemed a great fit.

What is your previous experience and how has this helped you in your new role?

Coming from a Digital Marketing background has allowed me to fully understand the roles and communicate the requirements to the candidates in a straightforward way. Knowing about all things digital and having experience in this industry has also helped me find and contact the right candidates for the roles. Having also worked in fast fashion and on the agency side of the market too, I feel I’m now able to understand the client’s culture well, and find candidates with the right experience and culture fit.

How was the remote interview and onboarding process for you?

Super easy! The interview process was spilt into three stages:

• 1^st stage it was a zoom call with Brian and Emma, which involved them understanding what attracted me to The Candidate and why I wanted a career in recruitment. I was also able to ask any questions I had about the role and company.
• 2^nd stage was another opportunity for me to ask questions and for them to explain what the next process will be. They also informed me more about the team I would sit in and what my day-to-day role would look like.
• 3^rd stage; a psychometrics test. It's really nothing to worry about - I really enjoyed this process of the interview as it shows what personality type you are and this is a good way to see if you will fit in the company’s working culture which is important to me.

Then on my first day of onboarding, I was in the office! It was great finally being able to meet people in person.

What is your new role at The Candidate and what will you be working on?

I am a Marketing Recruitment Consultant - I work with some really great clients and cover roles in all Marketing aspects. Some of the roles I have worked on so far include, PPC, SEO, Affiliates, Paid social, social media, influencer outreach, CRM and even graphic designer roles! Most of the roles are in Manchester but you still get some exciting roles on the outskirts of Manchester such as Macclesfield and London! A lot of roles are remote as well which give you the chance to find and speak to candidates from all over the UK!
