Based in Manchester, this company has been providing the nation with the highest quality textile designs for almost 70 years. They are a very creative and highly motivated team and are looking for a talented Textile Designer to join their team.

The successful candidate will have to have an impressive track record with commercial design within the home furnishings industry and be enthusiastic about working with a diverse client portfolio.

Main Responsibilities of the Textile Designer:

  • Design portfolio artwork for soft furnishing products for in-house brands and client briefs.
  • Assist in the production of trend boards and commercial designs around these trends.
  • Assess the quality of prints and provide overseas factories with feedback.
  • Photograph products.
  • Liaise with the mills on the sampling process through to bulk production.
  • Responsible for cataloguing designs, product shot images and general upkeep and dressing of showrooms.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • A minimum of four years’ experience as a Textile Designer in a commercial role.
  • BA Hons degree in Textile Design or similar.
  • Hand painting skills required.
  • A willingness to potentially travel.
  • Dedicated and passionate designer with the ability to meet the diversity of the role and the client base.
  • Broad knowledge of all aspects of commercial fabric printing and weaving including jacquard design, digital and rotary printing.
  • Previous experience with CAD, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Clear understandings of the print repeat process within the production of printed textiles.
