Our client is a global media agency with the regional office in Manchester City Centre and they are now looking for a Planning Manager to work on one of the UK's largest direct response brands. This is a great opportunity for a re-locator to seriously consider Manchester as the place for the next step in their career.

The Planning Manager’s role is to lead the day to day running of client business as well as always looking for opportunity and innovation. The successful candidate must be proactive and inquisitive in their approach to solving everyday business and planning challenges whilst producing innovative solutions and media plans.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Planning Manager

  • Understand the customer brief and how to deliver tailored campaigns to enhance ROI
  • Manage costs and budgets for campaign planning
  • Build up a strong relationship and network within the digital industry
  • Run desktop research and planning utilising key planning tools
  • Use different media tools for planning presentation
  • Build strong relationship across the agency to ensure planning is cohesive
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior staff
  • Communicate key insight and knowledge across the teams
  • Keep up to date on the newest media and digital trends
  • Run competitor analysis to understand the market developments and customer needs

Required skills of the Planning Manager

  • Strong knowledge of planning tools and conducting desktop research
  • Excellent knowledge of online and offline media like Digital, TV and OOH
  • Great analytical skills and communicating insights across the teams
  • Good organisational skills to have an overview of the full planning process
  • Ability to identify new strategic approached to the planning process
  • Ability to create a strong understanding of a target audience
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent team management skills are essential for this role
  • The successful candidate must be able to execute innovative plans based on the brand’s values and tell a story through creative campaigns
