Our client is a global media agency with a regional office in Manchester City Centre and they are now looking for a Media Planning Manager to work with a new client. This agency is responsible for some of the most ground-breaking campaigns in the industry, so they require a candidate who has a passion and skill set to conduct strategic communication plans across multiple channels.

The Media Planning Manager work closely with the Insights team to create innovative media campaign plans, so the successful candidate must have a wealth of management and media experience. The successful candidate must be proactive and inquisitive in their approach to solving everyday business and planning challenges whilst producing innovative solutions and media plans.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Media Planning Manager

  • Understand the customer brief and how to deliver tailored campaigns to enhance ROI
  • Manage costs and budgets for campaign planning
  • Build up a strong relationship and network with the digital industry
  • Run desktop research and planning utilising key planning tools
  • Use different media tools for planning presentation
  • Build a strong relationship with the agency to ensure planning is cohesive
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff
  • Communicate key insight and knowledge across the teams
  • Keep up to date on the newest media and digital trends
  • Run competitor analysis to understand the market developments and customer needs

Required skills of the Media Planning Manager

  • Very strategic and able to implement successful communication plans
  • Previous experience in a managing communications planning role
  • Previous experience in managing and developing a team
  • Strong online and offline media knowledge
  • Excellent client relationship skills and ability to keep in touch with clients on a daily basis
  • Creative thinker and ability to identify new media opportunities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Great communication skills
  • An analytical mindset to identify trends in data mining and provide recommendations
