Situated in Lancashire, our client is an industry leader in delivering various products to their loyal customers across the UK! They are at the pinnacle of their growth, with exciting new plans in the pipeline, hence they are now on the look-out for a knowledgeable and highly skilled IT Support and Network Manager to develop the business’ IT strategy whilst also aiming to successfully embed the company’s data security policies which aid their future growth.

The IT Support and Network Manager will work across a variety of exhilarating projects including systems architecture, data analysis, and software development, therefore, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience in leading support projects and infrastructure. They will also be comfortable managing data management, networks and physical and virtual servers.

The Key Responsibilities of the IT Support and Network Manager:

  • Work on maintaining an effective IT control environment, ensuring core systems are secure, available and effective.
  • Oversee regular maintenance and diagnose concerns of existing network infrastructure.
  • Make recommendations to enhance current network solutions in terms of security and resilience.
  • Sustain accurate and up-to-date registers of network users and licenses for 3rd party software.
  • Carry out root cause analysis and diagnosis of complex technical failures in order to seek out appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain network, fileservers, PC workstations, printers, routers, switches, modems, cabling and internet communications.
  • Plan, budget and evaluate infrastructure usage across the business as a whole in order to assess costing.
  • Oversee deployment of IT hardware and software across the business.
  • Understand and establish the companies Data Security Policy.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • 3 years’ experience in IT support, management and network.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Server (2008 and 2012) and Microsoft Exchange Server (2010)
  • Practiced with Microsoft Office Suite and Hyper-V.
  • Experience with HP Managed Switches and SAN storage.
  • Able to use initiative and work in a detailed methodical manner.
  • Organise, present and publish information in an effective way.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative approach to identifying solutions.
