Our client is a modern business who prides themselves on helping local communities have a sustainable future. Due to a period of growth, they are now looking for an experienced Communications Director to join the team in order to take charge of all things communication! This person will be involved in their digital transformation over the next three years.

The Communications Director will be directly reporting to the Chief Executive Office whilst also working closely with the other departments in order to execute an integrated, cutting-edge communications strategy which will set them apart from their competitors. The successful candidate will be accountable for conveying the company’s vision and goals to their target audiences through a variety of campaigns. They will also be responsible for delivering innovative solutions which aim to meet business requirements whilst supporting the organisational vision and taking the lead on all PR activities in order to build brand awareness with key stakeholders and customers.

The Main Responsibilities of the Communications Director:

  • Take control of the communications strategy and successfully convey the business strategy to all audiences
  • Execute the communications plan across the entire business whilst also planning and delivering a channel and content strategy which focuses on digital, traditional and face-to-face channels
  • Become the brand ambassador for the company in order to promote brand awareness
  • Establish a group function that works with team leaders and managers across the business to deliver consistent messages
  • Create and implement a feedback mechanism which will allow for the collection of richer audience data which will be used to inform future decisions
  • Track and report all communications data to make sure that all campaigns are delivering successful results
  • Ensure the communications budget is adhered to whilst building strong work relationships with a number of key influencers within the industry by attending conferences and roadshows
  • Manage and develop a team of communication professionals and work with HR to develop their engagement priorities

The Key Skills and Attributes Required:

  • Experience within a similar role is essential
  • Proven track-record of planning and implementing a successful communications strategy
  • Experience working for a non-profit organisation would be advantageous
  • Fantastic budget management, organisation, time management and communication skills
  • Comfortable building strong work relationships!
