Building digital experience and user-friendly websites, whilst managing a small team of developers, for a niche industry, the Web Development Manager will be joining an agency who have thrived and grown in the past 12 months. With a vision of expanding the development team whilst implementing modern practises, the Web Development Manager will work alongside the agency CEO to grow the brand.

Joining an agency with a true start up feel, the Web Development Manager will lead and support a team of three developers as our client looks to bring in an experienced developer. Remaining entirely hands on, you will help businesses embrace the digital age with open arms whilst sharing your experiences with some of the more junior members of the team. Representing some of the most relevant businesses in the UK at present, the demand for our clients service has never been higher. The Web Development Manager will be tasked with creating attractive WordPress websites, implementing best practises along with the autonomy to introduce new technology & methodology as you see fit.

Using WordPress (PHP), HTML, CSS and JavaScript, the Web Development Manager will work in a fully remote capacity to help build the client’s vision into a reality! Reporting directly to the company’s CEO, you will be instrumental in growing the development team and helping to expand the agencies offering. With training opportunities available, you can enhance your technical abilities with a clear and structured development path up to the Head of Development.

Key Responsibilities of the Web Development Manager:

• Creating ultra-sleek, modern, and user-friendly websites that the clients and customers will love!
• Mentor and assist in the growth of junior members of the team whilst providing key knowledge you have learnt in their day to day.
• Suggest and implement new methodologies & technologies to the technical stack.
• Embody the business culture whilst proactively taking a leadership role within the close-knit team.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Commercially experienced building WordPress experience with further knowledge of the wider technical stack including HTML, CSS, JavaScript & PHP.
• Experienced managing a team in either a lead or managerial role.
• Adaptable to work in a fast paced environment where ideas are quickly translated into reality.
• Must be comfortable working in a fully remote environment (unless you are able and wanting to head into the Leeds based office).
• Capable of managing projects through from conceptions through to delivery and maintenance.
• Excited about the opportunity of growing into a leadership role, where progression into a Head of Development position is both available and realistic.
