The Candidate are actively recruiting for a Manchester based digital agency for the addition of a Web Developer to their team. Over the past few months, the continued requirement for stronger digital presence by various brands has seen the agency move from strength to strength. Now, given the scope of projects available, the agency are searching to bring a talented Web Developer on board to join their team. As the Web Developer, you will be responsible for the development of websites for well known brands across a variety of sectors. Predominantly building through WordPress, the Web Developer must be able to build both front end and back end solutions in line with client requirements.

Given the growth plans for the business, this is an exciting chance for a Web Developer to solidify their own working culture and recruit into their own development team. The agency currently has a close knit, family based culture in which everybody in the team mucks in together to ensure they’re able to bring creative solutions to the table. Progressing into a Senior / Managing Developer position, this role is ideal for a candidate who’s ready to take that next step into a growing business

For the foreseeable, our client is working on a part remote basis with circa 2 days per week in the office and 3 days remote. The long term plan is to remain on this working basis even when the office returns to ‘normal’.

Key Responsibility of the Web Developer:

  • Design and develop websites to match client requirements.
  • Be the WordPress expert within the business, offering support for other developers and members of external teams.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders on the progress of projects.
  • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to ensure that all client briefs are successfully achieved.
  • Long term vision to grow in to a senior & management role in which the further recruitment of a development team will be the priority.

Ideal Candidate for the Web Developer role:

  • Previous proven experience in a Web Development role is essential with a portfolio of WordPress sites.
  • Exposure to both front end and back end development.
  • Excellent understanding across a variety of languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and more.
  • WordPress experience is essential but further CMS exposure would be ideal.
  • Passionate about their creations, ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest possible standard.
