This is an exciting opportunity to join the Improvement Analytics (IA) team within a successful health care management consultancy in Manchester.  They work across England with an enviable reputation for the delivery of complex projects in the areas of patient safety investigations, modelling/data analytics and assurance reviews.  

The IA team work with their subject matter management consultants to; undertake simulation modelling using their own tools; deliver bespoke analysis of health care delivery systems; undertake detailed patient harm analysis and develop new product ideas. You will be required to deliver projects as part of multi-disciplinary delivery teams, manage their analysts and head up new product development in coordination with the Partners. 

They are looking for a dynamic and experienced NHS health care analyst to lead and further grow and develop the IA team, and its offers to the market. You will join a highly professional, creative, and patient focussed firm that values its employees and has the highest standards of project delivery.

Responsibilities of the Senior Analytics Consultant:

  • Working with the team undertaking analysis of large client data sets to discover hidden insights via our the business’ simulation models of health care systems or bespoke analysis.
  • Using R, or similar, to create engaging data visualisations and presentations of complex data.
  • Presentation of work to large, varied and often senior groups of stakeholders.
  • Managing the IA’s team’s workload, their delivery and performance.
  • Production of high-quality analytical reports.
  • Development of new products based on current market presence as well as your own market insight.
  • To actively contribute to the development and of the IA delivery unit by being part of Niche working groups.

About you:

  • Strong academic background in a numeric discipline.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, use of R, Python and/or other similar technology.
  • Detailed knowledge of SAS, SPSS, SQL.
  • Programming experience.
  • Modelling/forecasting techniques and time series analysis.
  • NHS background with 3-5+ years’ experience either in a provider or commissioning role.
  • Detailed knowledge of NHS data sets and their use
  • Has developed analytical approaches to solving complex data problems.
  • Line management of analytical staff.
  • Eager to progress in career.
