PR Account Director

Our client is a rapidly expanding virtual PR agency focused on working with tech start-ups.

They are in search of an experienced senior consultant to join their growing team and head up their B2B technology department. This role comes with great variety from pitching to win new clients to managing project they are looking for an all-rounder who will thrive and help their business grow.

The person for this role will excel in running hard working press offices, search for interesting articles for clients in national media and trade press releases.

In this fast-growth environment stories often need developed and sold in quickly so this should be something that comes as second nature to the successful candidate.

This business has offices in Manchester and London but offer remote working and will consider part time options for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities PR Assistant Director:

  • Senior client contact for agency’s B2B accounts, managing expectations and building long-term relationships
  • Overseeing PR campaigns from creative brief to implementation and delivery
  • Taking ownership of storytelling with new and creative ideas, driving the editorial strategy with content pitches, press alerts and new campaigns in a range of media
  • Delegate and provide advice to junior freelancers and team members
  • Monitoring the industry and external climate to advise on public relations strategy and positioning
  • Supporting the team in winning new business and growing existing client accounts 
  • Developing a wide network and establish credible contacts in both media, the start-up sector and also freelancer communities
  • Providing strategic marketing advice to clients
  • Developing senior press relationships and managing contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople and sector influencers

Relevant experience:

  • At least five years solid PR experience within B2B/health tech sector
  • A strong industry network and contacts with senior journalists and members of the press
  • Excellent client handling, particularly within the start-up world with fast-growth founders
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing PR campaigns for a range of clients
  • Polished presenter and adept at explaining PR terms and outcomes to senior players
  • Commercial acumen and experience of developing new business
  • A deep understanding and knowledge of the PR and communications sector
