Our client are one of the biggest information platforms in the country. With multiple brands and platforms in various sectors, they take pride in helping their customers run their businesses more efficiently. They are now looking to transform their offering and shift to a digital-first approach, and are looking for a talented Marketing Director to drive this forward.

The Marketing Director will lead a team of marketing professionals to create and manage campaigns that drive both increased subscriptions and brand image as a whole. Striving to exceed targets and maximise ROI, the successful candidate will be a strong and effective people manager, ideally with experience in the media / publishing / events industry.

This role is based in Lancashire on a flexi-remote basis, with around 2 days in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities of the Marketing Director:

  • Brand strategy
    • Lead the company marketing strategy to achieve all KPI’s
    • Oversee the market segmentation to increase effectiveness of comms
    • Grow brand awareness and engagement across all channels
    • Ensure a customer-led approach, making sure customer experiences are valuable
    • Work with external stakeholders to optimise campaigns for various consumer segments
  • Managing budgets
    • Identify ways to make marketing campaigns more cost-effective
    • Demonstrate the impact that marketing has towards the overall revenue of the business
  • Team leadership
    • Manage and develop a team of executives and managers to deliver comprehensive multi-channel campaigns
    • Work with HR to set targets and progression programmes with a digital-first approach
  • Content focus
    • Oversee the social media and content schedule alongside the Content Director
    • Ensure consistent delivery of various forms of content, including videos, blogs, etc.
    • Work with the Head of Digital and Data to manage marketing acquisition strategies, focussing on PPC, email, paid digital etc
    • Employ a test-and-learn approach to optimise marketing efforts
    • Work with external agencies where necessary
  • Data and Digital drivers
    • Increase customer and client data capture quality and frequency
    • Utilise marketing automation and other marketing technologies
    • Develop a holistic customer understanding using data and insights
    • Develop an online eco-system for consumers

Key skills and Experience required:

  • Over 8 years of B2B marketing experience
  • Digital transformation experience
  • Interest in and understanding of the agriculture / rural sector
  • Proven track record in SEO / paid advertising
  • Able to use data and insight to make better informed decisions
  • A strong leader, with experience managing a number of people
  • A background in either media / publishing / events
  • A related degree and professional qualification
  • Creative and innovative
  • Analytically minded with a flair for digital
  • Brilliant communication skills
