JavaScript (Node) Developer

Building a state-of-the-art gambling platform which is due to revolutionise the platform across the globe. Contribution towards the creation of an entirely greenfield product (which is still in the development phase), our client is a well-funded business who have secured over £25million in investment.

As the JavaScript (Node) Developer, you will be joining a niche product team and create greenfield functionality whilst enhancing the existing features of the platform. Building solutions for back-end issues using Node.js, you will be responsible for creating beautifully crafted web applications. To be successful, it is essential that you understand what makes a Node.js application thrive under load, whilst being unfazed by V8 profiling to improve code performance. The business operates a truly modern technical environment implementing the following technology; Node.js, React.js, Redux, Typescript, MongoDB, Docker, RabbitMQ, JMeter, Jenkins, AWS, Kubernetes & more.

Currently, the business is operating on a fully remote basis but do plan to return to a predominantly office-based environment out of their modern Manchester City Centre offices. The team do work on a flexible basis within an autonomous environment.

Key Responsibilities for the JavaScript (Node) Developer:

• Create greenfield functionality and features using JavaScript with a core focus on Node.Js back-end development.
• Support junior members of the team in their development whilst offering your knowledge and experience
• Pragmatically approach technical issues to create scalable solutions.
• Form part of a vital product unit which will address key growth areas for the business

The Ideal Candidate:  

• Proven commercial experience building web applications with the full JavaScript stack
• Highly knowledgeable and confident in building scalable solutions using Node.js
• Naturally self collaborative person who is able to form relationships with internal stakeholders from various teams
• Constantly staying up to date with the latest methodologies and tech, keeping a keen eye on the opportunity to introduce new concepts into the business
