Our client is going from strength to strength - helping brands grow their sales on Amazon and other marketplaces whether they are starting out, looking to expand, or simply optimising their current listing to drive performance.  The Head of Marketplaces will lead a sizeable team and report directly to the CEO. Responsible for the P&L of the division, the ideal candidate must have experience in Amazon account Management, with proven success in delivering growth via marketplace platforms both in the UK and globally.

Role and Responsibilities of the Head of Marketplaces:

  • Set a vision and strategy for the team that ensure that they are No 1 in industry for reputation and innovation
  • Provide guidance on client projects, both at a commercial and strategic level
  • Ensure strong client relationships at all times
  • Develop and manage a high performance team 
  • Manage the Profit & Loss for your team
  • Find and hire new talent in the UK of the highest calibre
  • Successfully on-board new clients
  • Drive organic growth from existing accounts
  • Provide guidance to the team on how to solve Amazon and other marketplace issues
  • Support the delivery of New Business pitches
  • Be a brand ambassador and represent the company at various events 
  • Ensure that technology is used to deliver high quality insight and reporting to our clients and improve efficiency of the team

Experience and skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Min 7 years E-commerce experience
  • 3 years with Amazon with optimisation of vendor and seller platform in UK and internationally
  • An Amazon Accreditation in vendor management and Amazon Advertising - preferred
  • Some experience in setting up and managing AMS campaigns
  • A good understanding of other marketplace platforms e.g. Wish, Alibaba, Fruugo
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, people management, and team building skills
  • A strong commercial mindset having worked in a sales function with a consumer good
  • brands or an agency leadership position
  • Experience in managing a P&L within a business to deliver profit and growth
  • The capability and evidence to develop and clearly articulate e-commerce strategy and provide the guidance to the team to execute
  • Excellent at building and developing relationships with clients in order to gain mutual trust
  • Ability to analyse numerical data and identify reasonable and rationale conclusions
  • A problem solver who can find solutions to the challenges posed when working with Amazon
  • Driven to find opportunities for clients to grow their Amazon business
  • The capability and experience of managing a team of at least 5 people
  • A desire to continually learn and get better at what you do
