The Candidate Ltd

Here at The Candidate, we are representing a niche DIY & home brand in their search for a Full Stack Developer to join their Liverpool based development team. After continued growth in 2020, and ambitious plans to expand their team in 2021, the business are going from strength to strength. Built with technology at the core of all they do, the team is built on a foundational culture of having passion for your trade. As the Full Stack Developer, you will be joining a tech first business who prioritise development in the core of all they do. The role is an independent role in that the team are given the autonomy to create new functionality and delve into their system architecture to create new solutions.

To be successful in this role, you must be passionate about continually striving to improve your own abilities whilst keeping an eye on new technologies you would like to learn. Boasting a truly modern tech stack, the business is keen to offer training on wider technologies that you may not have had experience delving into. The core of the role revolves around full stack development (with a bias towards the back end) using HTML, CSS, JavaScript & Python. To kick start the role, you will be diving into Python & JavaScript projects which will include customer facing & internal software projects. Knowledge of Vanilla JavaScript without exposure to any frameworks is absolutely fine as training courses can be provided to learn React.js & Node.js, since both are implemented across their systems. With a strong eCommerce function across the business, any knowledge of creating Shopify web experience would be a benefit but is in no way necessary as further courses can be provided.

This role will be based out of their Liverpool head office with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities of the Full Stack Developer:

  • Create new functionality and features across a variety of eCommerce & internal business systems.
  • Contribute towards the wider teams workflow across the full stack development with a bias towards creating fluent back end solutions.
  • Embody the continuous learning culture of the business whilst introducing new technology, frameworks and languages to the tech stack.
  • Support the Head of Development with all back end requirements, both greenfield and bug fixing.

What’s In It For You:

  • Autonomy to introduce new ideas and technology into the business under a relaxed team environment which embodies the philosophy that ‘by not moving forward, you move backwards’.
  • Training and exposure to modern frameworks and languages across an exciting technical stack which includes Python, React.JS, Node.JS & Shopify
  • Competitive salary with flexible working hours.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Commercially experienced across the full stack using Python & JavaScript.
  • A natural go getter who’s self motivated and able to work autonomously to find technical solutions.
  • Any exposure to modern javascript frameworks such as React & Node is a bonus but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Equally, any commercial experience working on Shopify projects within an eCommerce arena would be advantageous but training can be provided on Shopify & templates if required.
