Our client are a leading online retailer who are experiencing a huge period of growth following private investment this year. They are an ecommerce business at heart, but in a sector whose products make a positive difference to peoples' lives (i.e. not just materialistic retail!).

They are currently seeking an ambitious and analytical individual who is naturally inquisitive, to join their expanding digital team to support with optimising the onsite customer experience. This role would suit someone who’s interested in working in the ecommerce/marketing industry, who is good with numbers/data, and enjoys trialling and testing new initiatives.

As part of the investment, they’ve had a total office refurbishment to modernise their HQ, giving the successful candidate a seriously cool place to work on the days when they are in the office. They have also ensured a big focus on ESG (to make the business more sustainable and eco-friendly) and have started a campaign on diversity and inclusion.

You will have the opportunity to works across 6 websites within the group so tons of variety and new material to go after. Also, it’s a new role for the business so their is no legacy/historical ways of working to have to undo – you can make the role your own!

The Role:

  • On-site search optimisation - reviewing site searches and using best judgement to optimise results for conversion inc but not limited to hiding / promoting / demoting product results
  • Working collaboratively with the buying, merchandising and digital teams to ensure product landing pages and product description pages provide an optimal customer experience
  • Analysis and reporting of site search usage, identifying trends and optimisation opportunities
  • Optimising product descriptions as and when required
  • Other e-commerce administrative duties as required

Skills Required:

  • Strong organisation and administrative skills
  • Numerical and analytical
  • Strong Excel skills, being able to use data to identify opportunities and translate those into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with wider business departments
  • Ability to manage your own workload; proactively picking up tasks

Your Experience:

  • I year+ experience in a similar role
  • Digital marketing or business qualification or experience
  • Experience using Google Analytics or alternative data analytics platforms
  • Previous experience of using a website management tool (e.g. WordPress Magento) and/or e-commerce search tools
