As a well-established brand on the British Highstreet who have been trading for over 30 years, they have recently undertaken a huge digital transformation piece. Now, 2 years into this project, they are looking to hire a brand-new role for a Digital Marketing Manager to help facilitate the next stage of development. As a result, this newly created high profile role is a real greenfield project, presenting a true career-making opportunity for the right ambitious candidate. There’s also the added bonus of having no historic/legacy processes and systems to undo!

Reporting to the Head of Digital, the Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for the acquisition strategy, planning and execution of all Digital Campaigns offsite, ensuring that their Digital presence champions the brand, the customer experience and has real, tangible commercial and/or strategic gain.

Working as part of the Digital team and reporting to the Head of Digital, this role will manage the full Online Marketing mix, from conception and launch of channels or campaigns to the ongoing optimisation, strategy change and enhancements of channels and campaigns to meet the demands of the market, business and ultimately the customer.

Working within the Digital Ecommerce team you will always work very closely with the brand marketing & CRM teams ensuring an Omni Channel approach to activity. You will share responsibility for ecommerce trading budgets & KPIs.


In this role you will:

  • Develop and implement online marketing strategies with focus on high growth in revenue profitably
  • Manage agency/in house relationships and key marketing channels including SEO, paid search, social commerce, affiliate marketing, comparison shopping engines, data feed strategy, re-targeting activity, and paid Social
  • Develop and maintain SEO strategy and project plan to meet business objectives
  • Develop and maintain paid search strategy with ownership of all adcopy
  • Leverage paid content opportunities
  • Review competitor activity, identifying gaps and opportunities
  • Budget management to deliver all marketing activity within the agreed budget
  • Reporting, analysis and on-going optimisation of all marketing channels
  • Research, identify and implement new online traffic and customer acquisition opportunities
  • On-going planning and implementation of customer acquisition activities
  • On-going planning, implementation and management of customer retention activities
  • Support management of the promotions calendar that leverages the retail promotions but identifying web exclusive offers at key times

About you:

  • At least three years’ experience Online Marketing
  • At least three years’ of Ecommerce Experience
  • Sharp on Business Management and Reporting Performance and Providing Insights that Drive Business Forward
  • Experienced in understanding and analysing consumer behaviour and using that to influence new initiatives, experiences and campaigns
  • Experience of mass marketing to consumers / small businesses
  • High commercial understanding of product
  • Good copywriting experience
  • Experienced in delivering marketing and sales plans preferably direct to online customers
  • Able to formulate plans and persuade others to support such plans.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Ability to work to a budget whilst still being able to trade profit opportunities on a continual basis
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure deadline dates are met
  • Analytical with knowledge of Excel
  • Fantastic communication skills
