Please note: the role is based in Nottingham. Currently the role is 100% remote but will be moving to a hybrid model of 3 days in the office from the end of the year.

As a well-established brand on the British highstreet who have been trading for over 30 years, they have recently undertaken a huge digital transformation piece. Now, 2 years into this project, they are looking to hire a brand new role for a Digital Insight Analyst to help facilitate the next stage of development. As a result, this newly created high profile role is a real greenfield project, presenting a true career-making opportunity for the right ambitious candidate. There’s also the added bonus of having no historic/legacy processes and systems to undo!

The main purpose of this role is to make use of all available data from a host of different sources, to undertake sophisticated analysis, in order to deliver key actionable insight, recommendations and initiatives back to the wider team to improve performance. You will provide detailed granular analysis for the effectiveness of campaigns, promotions and the full online marketing mix with the aim of increasing ecommerce revenue and profit. You will also be able to take full ownership of web data analytics and conversion rate optimisation, where you will be responsible for data driven website performance, as well as providing insight into acquisition and retention of new customers to improve the commercial performance of the website.

As part of the Digital team you will be accountable for providing relevant insight and recommendations to the business in relation to trends and patterns in online sales, traffic and conversion, using a combination of standard reporting packs and ad-hoc analysis primarily via Google Analytics.

In this role you will have the chance to:

  • Monitor the websites for changes in online behaviour and flag any insights or highlight any problem areas to the relevant teams.
  • Use data to identify consumer pain points around the site with a view to improving the customer experience.
  • Work with the marketing channel owners to provide them insight on marketing campaign effectiveness and assist in driving the direction of our marketing through attribution projects and a robust testing plan tailored to fit each channel.
  • Delivering insight, analysis and recommendations across the Ecommerce functions of Trading, Online Marketing, Strategy & Development and User Experience. This is a highly analytical role with strong management and drive needed to support the growth of the business online.
  • Delivering the key category trading insights necessary to shape the trading environment in which the business operates.
  • Providing where appropriate and required detailed and robust analysis to direct the strategic think tank as part of the continued development plan within e-commerce
  • Providing detailed and robust web analytics from various data sources to understand customer traffic and on-site behaviour at a macro and category level. As well as developing plans for analytics strategy, test & target and future development.
  • Work with the development team to ensure the data layer and Analytics tags are correct for any new pages/features.
  • Support the Ecommerce team on AB testing analytics.

About you:

  • Previous experience in a senior analytics or optimisation role
  • The ability to deliver accurate, relevant and timely information, based on solid research
  • The ability to think critically and strategically, having had exposure to both trading and analytics in your previous roles
  • The ability to find, analyse and triangulate all sources of data available
  • Commercial understanding
  • Experience of marketing to customers.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Data-mining and analytical skills
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced retailer
  • Google analytics experience is essential
  • Analytical with knowledge of Excel
  • Some experience of Retail, Online Marketing and Ecommerce beneficial.
