Data Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Data Manager to join their team in Manchester! The Data Manager will drive the continuous innovation and improvement of customer experience across the UK business by analysing data, insight, research and technology. They will work within a highly skilled team, as well as with other internal stakeholders, to set out the data strategy for the business. Delivering a data governance to improve the quality and accessibility of the data will also be a key aspect of this role.

Key responsibilities:

• Be a data quality evangelist - align and prioritise data quality for strategic projects, demonstrate data quality improvements through various KPI’s, and champion data quality education across the country
• Data management across the UK business – ensure data responsibility and accountability
• Optimise key processes for data quality with expert industry partners
• Establish crucial data definitions for the business to ensure transparency in reporting
• Support and enhance the use of marketing data and CRM systems
• Use scheduling tools to report automation
• Consolidate and enrich data through API’s and matching techniques
• SQL and Python programming capabilities - especially in creating and analysing aggregated reports

Skills and attributes:

• Experience in data management best practice
• Skilled in data warehouse design principles
• Superb ETL processes such as data mapping and transformation etc.
• Top quality data skills – proficiency with SQL server and relational databases
• Understanding of the key elements of data quality
• Enthusiasm for delivering business value through data
• Knowledge of key data visualisation tools such as Power BI, SSRS etc.
