As this business continues to grow at a rapid pace they are looking for a Data Scientist to push conversion results and understand their customer behaviour in depth. This company is at the height of their success and with over 1000 employees they are quickly expanding and are looking for fresh talent to join their team!

Ensuring a smooth process for customers is key for this online retailer and needs the ideal candidate to understand how the site can overcome any obstacles and get the best possible outcomes from their customers. The Data Scientist will be responsible for uncovering information that is hidden behind vast data. Their primary focus will be to apply data techniques and then carry out extensive statistical analysis in order to push the company to making informed business decisions!

The Main Roles and Responsibilities of the Data Scientist

  • Train analytical teams on new techniques when required
  • Work closely with the ISE team to specify which software and technology will be implemented and how
  • Act as a mentor to the analytical team and train them in any skills gaps when needed
  • Independently develop solutions across the business which will push growth
  • Responsible for the analysis and recommendations that you implement and feedback any recommendations on how this runs to the Leadership Team
  • Explore data to identify and push business values
  • Communicate insights to non-technical audiences and build business decisions based on recommendations
  • Work with the analytics team across all departments to challenge business decisions and influence better outcomes

 

Required Skills

  • A Masters of PHD in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Physics, Maths or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of technical skills such as data analysis- machine programming, Perl, Python, Hadoop, SQL, and R
  • Proven experience of working in a delivery focussed analytical team with a strong background in predictive modelling and machine learning
  • Be able to train analytical teams on new techniques
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
