Chief Marketing Officer – Cheshire (1 day a week in the office) – Up to £90,000 - Ecommerce

This established ecommerce platform has been growing rapidly over the last year and has no intentions of slowing down! With plans of international expansion and developing their UK market leadership, they’re looking to bring in their first senior Chief Marketing Officer to supercharge their marketing function.

The Chief Marketing Officer will develop and execute the ambitious marketing and sales strategy alongside the management team, ensuring business development goals are met (and exceeded!). Managing a team that handles online and offline content, as well as all other marketing activity, the Chief Marketing Officer will be a proven leader with great communication skills and a creative flair.

Role and Responsibilities of the Chief Marketing Officer:

  • Ownership of the global marketing strategy:
    • Design effective marketing and sales strategies, content, and campaigns in order to hit all targets
    • Maintain excellent industry knowledge, bringing a deep understanding of both customer and competitors
    • Employ insight driven and innovative strategies
    • Utilise all channels to target both new and existing customers
  • Ensure effective communications:
    • Have a clear and concise message that flows through all campaigns and channels
    • Ensure campaigns are creative and customer-centric – truly understand what the customer wants and is missing
    • Lead an internal communications programme that is informed, helpful, and inspirational
    • Audience segmentation and targeting
    • Increase the focus on Paid, Display, Affiliate, and Paid Social campaigns
  • Operational efficiency:
    • Manage budgets and regularly report on campaign performance
    • Act on insights to refine strategy
    • Develop effective resources, tools, processes, and external relationships to execute marketing activity
    • Keep a close eye on ROI
    • Make data-driven decisions
  • Lead from the front:
    • Get hands-on to inspire and motivate teams across the business
    • Build and develop a talented and successful marketing team

Skills and Experience of the Chief Marketing Officer:

  • 5+ years of proactive marketing / digital sales experience
  • 6+ years of leadership experience
  • B2C experience is necessary
  • Educated to degree level with a Diploma in Marketing or CIM Certificate
  • Creative flair – always thinking outside of the box
  • Able to bring the product to life!
  • Analytically minded
  • Commercially astute – proven track record in producing growth
  • Experience with subscription bases / recurring revenue / SaaS models would be highly beneficial!
