The company is searching for a top-calibre Chief Financial Officer who will excel in a dynamic, profit driven and customer focused environment with a proven track record to be an influential member of the executive management team taking control of high level decision making.

The future teaching workforce

Our client is a collaborative lesson planning and peer to peer coaching platform.

Although they have offices in London, Europe and the Middle East. This is a remote working opportunity.

The CFO will spearhead the finance department and steer the business through the upcoming funding rounds and growth phase. The primary role will be to provide financial insight and thought leadership across the businesses, whilst working closely with the CEO and the Board to achieve their short-term and long-term objectives. The role requires a Chief Financial Officer, who can adapt to the growth and change in the Edtech industry and can utilise new technology, and create new and different approaches to stay ahead of the market. The CFO must be agile, resourceful, deliberate, and comfortable in an environment of rapid change.


Main duties and responsibilities will be to:

  • Partner with the Chief Executive Officer to provide financial leadership and proactive financial guidance
  • Development of a sound financial capital plan in line with the business as an investment and meeting associated KPIs.
  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting, budgets and all financial modelling & reporting
  • Managing the development and maintenance of financial systems, procedures and internal control
  • Reviewing all finance processes and procedures – formalising where appropriate
  • Overseeing the annual audit process
  • Ability to partner with the businesses leadership, acting as confidant, adviser and challenger to ensure the business goals, resources, and processes are appropriate and delivered.
  • Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances while evaluating profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organisation as needed.
  • Generate additional commercial value into the business by means of new partnerships with other businesses.
  • Ensure timely and accurate forecasting, adherence to financial reporting requirements, and successful execution of business segment financial objectives.
  • Provide financial visibility across the business & drive improvement with solid analytical skills and strategic analysis. 
  • Ensure that the business is in full compliance with all applicable laws and the regulatory landscape. 
  • Actively participate in business segment operating reviews, critical business initiatives, and present insightful analysis and business commentary to a variety of stakeholders. 
  • Manage a team of 2 finance and accounting professionals, and grow the team in the coming years.

The person

A proactive, pragmatic and decisive leader, ability for both strategic and detailed operations, while the dynamic nature of the business means not being afraid to roll up your sleeves and make things happen to meet expectations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a B2B/B2C SaaS company. Experience working with subscription based services. 



  • 3-5 years experience in an executive / key leadership capacity within Finance, Operations & Management (ideally within a SaaS environment)  analytics, ED TECH would be a bonus.
  • Ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Track record of providing financial consultation to early-stage tech start-ups within the $30M - $100M+ range
  • Proven track record of creating financial reporting process, procedure & metrics for technology / software companies.
