Business Development Manager – Media Agency - £100,000 OTE (£60,000 basic and generous bonus)

This role can be based anywhere in the UK but it is important that the Business Development Manager is able to be in their Head Offices in Manchester for crucial and important meetings, sometimes with little notice.

Our client is on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to drive their business forward in an exciting period of growth. Reporting directly to the company founders, the ideal candidate will focus on sourcing new business opportunities and process management. Targeting high value clients, there will be an emphasis on selling the agency's comprehensive proposition.

This role is for someone who isn’t afraid to shout loud and can build rapport quickly especially through telephone and face to face meetings. Someone who is professional and senior and will think strategically and also on their feet.

The Business Development Manager will coordinate a team of 10+ to deliver high quality pitches, whilst they focus on initiating client conversations and demonstrating the agency's unique value. They will also be hands on and sit shoulder to shoulder with their staff so they have a full understanding of productivity and results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target new business opportunities in the agency and media sales sector
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of bringing new clients onboard, whether from network or independent agencies
  • Leverage a strong digital background while discussing various media propositions, emphasising digital expertise
  • Utilise a well-established network of contacts within the industry
  • Oversee an enterprise system for business development, emphasising link generation
  • Manage a high volume of outbound CRM leads

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Can do, self-starter attitude with a deep desire to success and the hunger and energy to make it happen
  • Background in agency or media sales
  • Demonstrated success in bringing new clients to agencies, media owners, or media sales houses
  • Strong digital expertise with a preference for digital media
  • Extensive industry contacts and connections
  • Proficiency in managing an enterprise system for business development
  • Experience with high-volume CRM lead management
  • Marketing and PR experience is a plus
