BI Developer – Runcorn – Ecommerce - £45k

Reporting into the CTO and working closely with the CEO, CMO and CFO you’ll have a combined 60+ years of digital retail & operational experience supporting your performance and growth over the years to come. You’ll take the lead in the management and mining of the Data Analytics Warehouse (DAW) solution, building out game changing automated data, producing critical reports, mining data for trends, patterns and opportunities for the business to grow. You’ll have the chance to make this area your own, building from a significant, recent investment in to the Marketing and the Operational DAW and taking things to the next level when it comes to how the business creates, communicates and consumes data. 

The role of BI Developer:

This is a newly formed role within the business and has been created for three primary reasons: 

  • To put data at the heart of their decision-making process, driving focus, priorities & pace 
  • To use data to better understand and care for their customers 
  • To create proprietary data solutions that provide a single ‘truth’ across the business 

The uber talented and incredibly driven person selected for this role will play a pivotal part in the delivery and development of their data solution; also, be the single point of contact for data aggregation, automation and presentation. To ignite this role, you’ll need to think customer first, be commercially aware and adept at spotting and communicating opportunities.

Roles and responsibilities of the BI Developer:

  • Engineering and development of our data solutions, maintaining health and building for the future
  • You’ll drive performance through analysing in and cross functional data and presenting opportunities
  • Collecting, extracting and analysing data from complex sources
  • Managing data-related APIs from health and integration points of view
  • Analysing and providing data on all key operational performance, suggesting improvements and changes where necessary
  • Make sure quality standards are met and deadlines achieved
  • Support others throughout the business to improve their use and understanding of data

About you:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role essential 
  • Exceptional TSQL skills including standard querying, advanced techniques including window functions, arrays, stored procedures, views, API calls and basic warehousing techniques
  • SQL Server experience (including entry to mid-level database administration) 
  • Experience in Microsoft BI Stack, Power BI, MS Excel, Google Big Query, Google Data Studio or other reporting tools 
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform or AWS cloud solutions Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions/Cloud Run/Cloud Build and Pub/Sub.
  • Experience with data visualization tools in particular Google Data Studio
  • SSIS (or other integration services) experience
