Attention BI Developers! We have the job of a lifetime! Become the new BI Developer for a leading, international travel business in Manchester and have the opportunity to work with one of the world’s most prestigious brands.

Situated within travelling distance from Manchester City Centre and other surrounding areas, our clients is a market leader within the travel industry and one of the UK’s biggest companies. As they continue to expand and grow their data science team, they now have the opportunity for a highly analytical and skilled BI Developer to join the team in this newly created role.

Working within the digital division of the company, the successful candidate will be responsible for aiding the business’ digital growth by using advanced MI and digital platforms to optimise the online journey. The BI Developer will take full responsibility for all current dashboards in order to evolve them and ensure that they support all activities across the company. In this role, there is a particular focus on Power BI, however, exposure to other relevant tools would be advantageous.

The Main Responsibilities of the BI Developer:

  • Support all the dashboards by working closely with the Data Engineers in order to identify the necessary data needed to achieve this.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders in order to establish needs and data availability whilst also working with a variety of data including Google Analytics, CRM, Retail and real-time telemetry.
  • Make sure that all data is reconciled in order to provide accurate recommendations.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest technologies and implement them accordingly whilst also ensuring that all solutions are effective, reliable and efficient.

The Key Skills and Attributes of the BI Developer:

  • Expert knowledge and experience in Power BI, Power Query and DAX.
  • Previous experience in an aggregation of Google Analytics and BigQuery.
  • Capable of developing and optimising tabular data models.
  • A strong commercial acumen combined with a strong knowledge of SQL.
  • Proven track record of working with complex datasets and data warehouses.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience with tools including Kibana would be beneficial.
