Our client is a leading luxury brand known for its exceptional quality and design. The Automotive Product Leader will take ownership of Partnership and Market Intelligence.

In collaboration with the Automotive Product & Pricing Manager, they will supervise the Product Insights Executive to ensure a comprehensive analysis of sales data across all their client's vehicles and options. This role encompasses the development of options strategy, profitability assessment, integration of automotive Q, management of automotive launch/run-out/special edition options packages, formulation of automotive accessories strategies, and oversight of the automotive configurator. Additionally, they will manage automotive colour & trim updates, negotiate complexity reduction with key stakeholders, and review competitor products to identify potential opportunities.

This is a niche market that will provide an excellent career prospects, and it is essential that the applicant has strong understanding and experience in the vehicle industry.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead responsibilities include:

  • Options strategy development and profitability
  • Automotive Q integration
  • Automotive launch/run-out/special edition options packages
  • Automotive accessories strategies
  • Automotive configurator
  • Product documentation standards (e.g., bulletins, presentations, marcomms consistency)
  • Conduct regular benchmarking activities to identify opportunities in our client's automotive options offering compared to competitors.
  • Oversee the seamless transition of data reporting from the current system to the new ERP system.
  • Collaborate with the Global Pricing Lead to propose price positions for review by senior leadership.
  • Expertly represent the automotive product function in the wider business through regular touchpoints with product leaders, design, procurement, finance, and marketing.
  • Use touchpoints to identify strengths and weaknesses in the automotive product offer.
  • Provide actionable suggestions for stakeholders that lead to positive changes within the product assortment while maintaining profitability.
  • Create proposals to address weaknesses in the product offer and demonstrate holistic objective benefits.
  • Demonstrate the benefits of these proposals to customers and our client.

Supervise the workload of the Product Insights Executive, ensuring timely data inputs to support broader conversations about the automotive product offer.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Strong analytical understanding and ability to handle large datasets.
  • Proficient in IT, especially in Excel.
  • Confident communicator with proven experience influencing business decisions.
  • Project management skills for key automotive updates/initiatives.
  • Strong presentation skills (written and verbal) using PowerPoint.
  • Planning skills with the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Experience in luxury goods, preferably automotive or fashion.
  • Retail merchandising background, with an understanding of retail reporting and customer trend analysis.
  • Willingness to travel, work flexible hours, and visit different facilities of our client.
