Our client is a top retailer specialising in exciting fitness and nutritional products and requires a Demand Planner to be the nucleus of communication between all the key department, Sales, Operations, Finance and Purchasing and ensuring the optimisation of production abilities and sales opportunities. They will build forecasting models, production schedules, KPI’s, inventory reports and trend analysis. The best fit for this role will be highly organised, an excellent communicator as they will be key in communicating across the business, analysing and providing insight to improve overall business performance.  

Roles and Responsibilities of the Demand Planner

  • Produce the daily production schedule and ensure that there are sufficient materials available to execute this plan
  • Responsible for short and medium term forecast models at Stock Keeping Unit Level based on overall demand
  • Gather and co-ordinated the requirements of each sales channel through participating in weekly meetings
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to plan promotional activities
  • Carry out trend analysis to help business gain market opportunities
  • Implement stock processes such as monthly stock counting, business reports and analysis
  • Optimise production capabilities by creating production schedules
  • Create accurate, detailed schedules to ensure there are a clear overall production forecast schedules

Skills and Attributes

  • Highly organised, clear communicator that is able to keep a lot of balls in the air and make changes when required
  • Can remain relaxed and calm under pressure and react quickly to troubleshooting, providing solutions
  • Experience working in a multi-functional environment would be highly advantageous
  • Experience creating production schedules
  • Knowledgeable in Material Requirement Planning and inventory management systems
