The Business Development Manager will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships within the industry, where they will be attending lots of exciting events and exhibitions whilst creating networks! This is an opportunity not to be missed as the successful candidate will get the chance to develop and sell tailored marketing programs to some of the world’s biggest companies in the science industry!

Our client is situated in the picturesque county of Cheshire which is very accessible from many areas. The business is also relaxed about working from home at times, which makes the job very flexible! The Business Development Manager will be joining a fantastic, hard –working team and the candidate will also get the chance to research new contacts which will help to maximise new opportunities!

Main responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:

  • Be proactive about promoting and selling opportunities to existing and new clients
  • Arrange face to face meetings when needed
  • Ensure all deadlines and targets are met, whilst driving sales revenue
  • Aim to increase revenue by devising promotional strategies
  • Make sure sales figure reporting and forecast revenues are up to date and accurate
  • Ensure excellent customer service is consistent and maintain close contact with clients
  • Identify and analyse client needs and growth opportunities
  • Work with other departments such as production and editorial to ensure the portfolio of products are running smoothly

Skills and attributes required:

  • Degree level or have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in advertising/B2B media
  • A second language would be very beneficial- but not essential!
  • Sound knowledge of using Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Web Research and Database Packages
  • A highly motivated individual who is very ambitious and has the ability to work in a fast past environment
  • Track record of presenting at a senior level, who puts the customer first
  • Extremely organised and analytical
  • Hard working attitude who puts in 110% effort in everything they do
