Being in the middle of the election period,
government ambitions to turn Manchester into a Northern Powerhouse
in tech are coming to the forefront, and the digital industry is
preparing for a huge boost. As it stands, the sector employs 1.46
million people, and this is set to grow by 90 per cent in the next
year. There is an increasing need, therefore, for fresh talent to
be brought into the industry.
Here at The Candidate we have
expanded significantly over the past few months to move with the
evolving landscape of digital, and to fit the recruitment needs of
our clients that are growing, too. In March alone, we experienced a
40 per cent boost in revenue compared to the same month last
Dividing the business into sectors including
retail, eCommerce, and production, means we can now offer a
tailored service for different job roles. This has had a positive
effect on the business, with revenue, staff numbers, and clients
all up since we made the change in 2014.
In particular, our eCommerce department has
grown massively since its launch this time last year, and it now
represents 40 per cent of our overall revenue. We expect this
division of our company to account for over half of our total
revenue next year, to correspond with the industry's anticipated

Gumtree and JD Williams, which means we have great new roles up for
grabs for our candidates.
To handle the additional workload, we've expanded the team and
now stand at 13 experienced and passionate recruiters, eight more
than 12 months ago.
