In our latest recruitment whitepaper, The Candidate has partnered with the Manchester Publicity Association to reveal the North West’s latest trends in Executive Level Recruitment within the marketing industry.
The report uncovered that 11% of respondents successfully recruit from internal sources; whilst 42% state that external recruitment was their chosen method to meet their requirements. This is a positive sign for candidates who wish to join these companies, as it shows there are plenty of employers outsourcing recruitment at this level.
Surprisingly, and potentially where external recruitment is failing, only 2% indicated that all of their Executive Level hires have been from outside of the region. On one hand, this highlights the sheer amount of Executive Level Marketing talent which the region boasts. On the other hand, it potentially underlines limitations, as employers are not effectively tapping into talent pools further afield. In addition, the Manchester Digital Skills Audit Report 2017 indicates that outside of the North West, London is the second most favoured region for local employers to recruit from.
At 23%, the level of respondents who offer relocation packages to candidates, means there is clearly a lot of work to be done around the attraction mechanisms to bring talent in from outside the region. Considering Executive Level candidate’s requirements, and the stage they are at in life, they may need assistance with housing, transportation, and childcare. It would bode well in the future, for more employers to consider this.
The region’s marketing industry has been growing at a phenomenal rate, and it doesn’t show any sign of slowing down. With more marketing companies relocating to, or starting up in, the digital hub of the North, the requirements for effective Executive Level recruitment in marketing will only increase.
65% of our respondents stated that it takes between 2-3 months to fill an Executive Level vacancy. Read our full research report about Executive Level Recruitment here!
