Agency Life at The Candidate

 

Last year The Candidate decided to take part in the MMU Agency Life program - this involves second year students spending a day in an agency environment to gain real life work experience. I'm enrolled on the Advertising and Brand Management course and along with 4 others I was luckily selected to join The Candidate. Before my time at the agency I had worked in Front of House and Administration positions but had never had any hands on experience in the industry, that's why when I heard about the module I was eager to get started. The Candidate is a specialist agency that offers recruitment solutions for Marketing, Media and Digital roles. Prior to Agency Life I didn't know much about recruitment but this opportunity has opened my eyes to the fast paced and exciting world of digital and all the possible paths my career can take.

Working at The Candidate you learn exactly what it takes to become an Account Manager at a global advertising agency or a PPC Executive for a leading brand. The Candidate work with all the top agencies in Manchester along with boutique agencies and businesses, therefore work experience with the company gives you a real insight into the industry. During my Agency Life with The Candidate I was involved in writing copy, managing job advertisements, contributing to the blog and social media as well as working on group projects. Through my hard work and determination I am now a permanent member of staff at The Candidate and work here part time alongside my studies!
