The Candidate is delighted to announce an exclusive partnership with The Chartered Institute of Marketing, sponsoring all of their North West regional based events for the coming year. These well renowned marketing events cover a range of related topics for both their member base and non-CIM members and offer great advice at each of the sessions on improving the way they approach their marketing activities. Having a presence at each of the events, The Candidate will offer career support and guidance along with discussing current job opportunities for those present.

CIM Small

The Chartered Institute of Marketing has been working alongside marketers for some time now in the region and across the UK. They work with all levels of marketers, from managers to team leaders and the entire marketing sector. Proud to be the biggest body from a professional point of view, they offer a range of benefits to members. These include professional development courses, qualifications and bespoke assistance to maximise marketing output.

The events are split into 3 categories, targeted at differing levels of skillset and knowledge within the marketing sector; Explore, Excel and Evolve:

  • Explore - for those with little or no marketing experience; SMEs, students etc.
  • Evolve - for those developing their marketing skills; SMEs, students, practitioners etc.
  • Excel - for those looking for the next step up, more in-depth understanding, practitioners, senior managers, lecturers etc.

Recent events in the region have included Digital in a Day, which was hosted by industry expert Rene Power and covered digital strategy for companies of all sizes and sectors. Topics included effective use of social media, SEO, PPC and CRM. Other events have included a more informal meet and greet at Radio City Tower in Liverpool, which provided a great opportunity for people from Liverpool and across the region to meet new contacts and create new opportunities.

CIM Awards

On the horizon is the flagship event for the CIM which is the Northern Awards 2016, held at the Crowne Plaza, Newcastle. 13 judges have reviewed hundreds of entries from companies, agencies and individuals from across the North for a chance to win one of 16 awards. The Candidate is excited to hear who will have impressed the judges enough to take the prize in each of the marketing focussed sectors. For more information on the awards click here.

In Manchester The Candidate will be sponsoring and attending 'An evening at Code Computerlove' on 10th November which is an informal networking event at this leading UK digital agency. You will get the opportunity to join like-minded individuals on a tour of their agency and learn about their vision and insight into the digital sector. The evening will include demonstrations which will look at User Experience, tools used for conversion optimisation, techniques for user research and models for testing. Attendance costs are free for members with a small charge for on members or non-CIM students. A representative from the CIM will also be available at the event to answer any membership or qualification related questions.

Events take place in a range of cities including Carlisle, Lancaster, Liverpool and Manchester.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the CIM, then we would recommend checking out their website which can be found here. Alternatively, Network Manager for CIM North Diane Earles will be attending the 'Branding & Sustainability' event in Lancaster and  'How do companies turn big data into insight?' event in Blackburn where she will be available to answer any questions which you may have about becoming a member or getting more insight into the qualifications which they offer.

We look forward to seeing you at one of these events!
